Rahane back as Captain, will play as 12th man from the Boundary

Rohit Sharma still unsure of playing the fifth test vs England starting on July 1. Rohit tested positive for Covid19 and is self isolating. India’s vice-captain KL Rahul, is injured and getting surgery in Germany with his girlfriend, Athiya Shetty, Daughter of India’s Anna – Suneil Shetty.

This has left the Indian Team Management in a bit of a dilemma. Rahul Dravid and the support staff do not have a captain. In Rohit’s absence, they have summoned the services of tatti opening batsman Mayank Agarwal, but who will lead the side is still a mystery.

However, Rowdy Cricket’s exclusive breaking news suggests that Ajinkya Rahane, who led India to their historic victory in the 2020-2021 Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, in Australia, has been called in to England. England are in excellent form with their new Captain-Coach duo of Ben Stokes – Brendan McCullum. They just beat New Zealand 3-0 at home and are gunning to take on England to save the series where India leads them 2-1 currently.

Ajinkya Rahane is in terrible form but his captaincy is highly rated and he has a great record. So, Dravid and the coaching staff is planning to include him for the Toss and have him as the 12th man during the match against England starting July 1. This is great news of Indian Cricket Fans, because Rahane will be the perfect choice for captaincy and we wouldn’t have to worry about him batting and getting out. He can direct the troops and set the field and make on-field decisions sitting outside the boundary ropes on the ground.

Here is Rowdy Cricket’s potential playing eleven for this fifth Test Match between India & England.
